The Things That Go Down In High School

Trust No one. Rely on Yourself, and only Yourself.

Trust No One. Take this as a word of advice. I learnt this the hard way.

I realized shortly after the 2 fruitful years I’ve spent in high school, that I can trust no one, only myself. It’s fact that no one truly has your back in high school – it’s basically an everyman for himself free for all, and that’s the cold hard truth.

That is why we need to learn in high school, and also in areas like the workplace, to rely on one’s self.

The genuine reason why I decided to write about this topic is that when I went into high school I thought that my friends would have my back or provide the support when I truly needed it – but I couldn’t even trust them. What I didn’t know was that in reality, people can be so cold as to turn their backs on you in the click of your fingers.

If you think you have someone that you can rely on to help you, to support you and have your back, think again. If you deeply reflect about the previous statement, you’ll understand the only person that can do that all is yourself.

Being independent is something that is particularly hard especially in situations in high school, but it can definitely be overcome. Relying on yourself is something so key, it will benefit hugely on a long term.

So hopefully from this you’ll learn something new, and give you a reality check. Take my advice hoping that it will help you in future endeavors.
